How Vitamin C Will Help With Your Skincare Routine

What exactly is Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is a natural anti-oxidant, which we can find in several fruits and vegetables. Our body does not produce vitamin C on its own; rather we have to consume it through eating or we can also use topical solutions. We will be talking about the topical application of it, and how the benefits can even outweigh ingested Vitamin C. While we can ingest Vitamin C as much as we want, to benefit our skin, it is better to have it in a topical form and let it be absorbed because it optimizesthe benefits for our skin.

What are the Benefits?

Vitamin C serums are starting to be used more and more by the public in their skincare routine because the benefits are vast from making your skin feel plump to helping repair irregularities. Harmful UV rays damage the dermis layer of our skin. Vitamin C protects your skin against these rays and helps it maintain its plumpness. Vitamin C helps in the production of collagen, which is the most abundant protein present in the body. The middle layer of your skin (the dermis) building block is collagen, and while collagen topical solutions themselves do not help in the production of the protein, vitamin C helps in the production of the dermis layer.

Vitamin C also acts as a moisturizer to your skin, or rather an agent that locks in the moisture. We’ve all seen some ads on TV that show the difference their skin cream can make from having dark spots on your face to having soft, plump, and glowing skin. While the effectiveness of these products is not something we are going to take a jab at today, it does seem to work with Vitamin C products. Because of the protection provided by Vitamin C, it is understood that our skin has a chance to develop and get rid of dead skin cells.

How to use

Since this might be a new product for some people who have not used it before, you might think about how in the world you use it. Do you apply it after a shower or before sleeping or before going out? The answer is that it depends on what type of product it is. If we take a serum, for example, it would be a good idea to wash your face when you wake up, and then use a collagen solution along with a vitamin C serum to lock in the moisture and have your boy produce collagen at the same time. The reason I say recommend this skincare routine is that I used to do it myself. I plan to use this routine again now because I have slight scarring on my face from pimples. Since this is a topical solution, it is important to test the product first in case of sensitive skin. It would be a good idea to consult a doctor first if you have any issues.
